Sumus® Paper Bags are resistant to liquids, perforations,
breakages and are fully compostable.
The paper bags produced by Sumus are the ideal solution for the separate collection and delivery of paper.
The Sumus product line is completed with a series of other products designed to respect the environment.
Sumus Italia Srl was founded in 2013.
Some of its founders had already been involved in a first entrepreneurial initiative since 2005, always in the search for new solutions for the collection of organic waste with recycled paper bags.
Cartiera di Galliera and Lineapack srl of Chinello (inventor of the patented solution) hold the majority shareholding and supply the raw material (100% recycled paper from separate collection) and the production of the bags.
Sumus bags are used for the collection of organic waste (from 7 to 360 liters) or paper (from 30 to 120 liters).
The bags from 7 to 20 liters for organic waste, are covered by a worldwide patent.
Sumus Italia has also developed and recently patented the first sheet of recycled paper for active mulching worldwide. Thanks to natural substances, the upper page prevents light from passing through the paper, the lower one prevents the growth of weeds and counteracts the development of fungi and molds.
The company is certified according to ISO 9001-2015, ISO 14001-2015 and ISO 45001 standards.
100% of the paper
come from separate collection.
Cartiera GALLIERA specialized in recycled papers for the flexible packaging sector.
LINEAPACK CHINELLO with a complete production autonomy, to guarantee the quality of the packaging.
Sumus® final product, 100% recycled paper bags for the collection of waste, paper, greenery and other eco-sustainable products
It increases the quality of the organic and paper collected, increases the amount of organic and differentiated paper, decreases the distribution of bags for organic and paper waste collection, decreases the weight of the organic fraction thanks to transpiration.
It gives a pure organic waste and a paper fraction free of foreign elements, eliminating the need for the “bag breaker”, both for the organic fraction and for the paper; Sumus bags for organic are biodigestable: there is full compatibility in organic treatment…
“The quality of the paper and organic collected is improved, the number of laps and the collection quantities are optimized, the management of the vehicles is improved, the fuel consumption is reduced, the emissions of polluting gases are reduced, the conditions of the operators are improved.
Fewer bags are used, the weight of the waste is reduced, the volume of the bags is exploited to the fullest (the organic is naturally compacted by reducing its volume up to 50%), bad smells are not produced, sewage is not dispersed, there is no there are bag…
In 2018 Sumus Italia received the “Zerowaste, good business practices towards zero waste” award conferred by the Zero Waste Italy association and by the Zero Waste Research Center of the municipality of Capannori, and at Ecomondo 2018 received the award on environmental innovation.
Sumus Italia received the “2016 Sustainable Development Award” for the biofilm in recycled paper for active mulching, promoted by the Foundation for Sustainable Development together with Ecomondo-Fiera di Rimini.
The municipality of Ceriale, which uses Sumus bags for the separate collection of organic waste, in 2015 won the special prize “The most organic municipality” for the category of municipalities between 5,000 and 15,000 inhabitants as part of the competition “The city for the green“.
The city of Forlì, which uses Sumus bags for the separate collection of organic waste, in 2014 won the special prize “The most organic municipality” in the category of municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants in the competition “The city for Green“.
In his book “The nation of plants (Laterza 2019)”, the plant neurobiologist Stefano Mancuso imagines that the plant kingdom is a real nation and has its own constitution, consisting of eight articles.
Taken from the magazine “Internazionale“, n ° 1389, p. 48.
The Nation of Plants recognizes and guarantees the inviolable rights of natural communities as societies based on the relationships between the organisms that compose them.
The municipality of Bolzano has been using Sumus bags for the collection of OFMSW (organic fraction of solid urban waste) since 2008. The efficiency of the system has progressively grown with a significant reduction in costs that has affected all the players in the supply chain (municipality, operator, plant and citizens).
In fact, in the face of a constant increase in the quantity of organic waste conferred in the period 2009-2014, the Tariff underwent two significant decreases: in 2015 (- 11%) and in 2016 (-5%). Furthermore, the city of Bolzano has gone from a supply of 6 million bags in the period 2008-2014 to one of 5 million since 2015 without introducing replacement bags, despite the fact that the separate collection service has also been extended to the historic center of the city: system efficiency leads to lower consumption and purchases (and reduces costs for the municipality and for the citizen).
